A beautiful national park with a 14 km long, and 400 meters deep canyon, rich in flora and fauna, where the Koprulu river flows, 62 km northwest of Side and 84 km northeast of Antalya. On your way north from Antalya consider visiting the Ucansu Waterfalls 54 km west of Koprulu Canyon but consider that in Summer there would not be too much water in the area.
Continue east and enjoy the scenic road leading to the park through the picturesque valleys, small villages, the beautiful turquoise Koprulu river, the waterfalls, and the surrounding forests. In Koprulu Canyon enjoy a great experience of Kayaking and body rafting in the river. Driving towards Selge ancient city you will cross the picturesque Roman Oluk Bridge over the Kopru river, and the Bugrum Bridge over the Kocadere river.
Stop at the rest area to enjoy the fish restaurants and caffes’ overlooking the river. The main attraction in the canyon is swimming and rafting on the Köprülu river arranged on site. From here you can continue 13 km north over the bridges to Selge ancient city, exploring the ruins on the way, the 6th century AD chapel, the garrison tower, and the aqueduct. The Selge ruins are part of the Altınkaya Village, including the city walls and towers, The Zeus temple, and other Roman impressive remains.
The fairy chimneys, and other interesting and beautiful rock formations, which gave the area its name “Little Cappadocia”, can be seen 10 km further north towards Ballıbucak. For a longer trip consider traveling further north through Ballibucak and and the village of Kasimlar to the tranquil Lake Kovada and its National Park, and 30 km north to the town of Egirdir and its beautiful lake.
