• Koh Phangan’s Waterfalls

There are few waterfalls in Koh Phangan, all have significant water flow in the rainy season or right after. The leading waterfalls are:

  • Than Sadet Waterfall
    Than Sadet
    waterfall in Namtok Than Sadet National Park, cascades in multiple tiers along 2 km, offering few pools great for swimming, and flowing all the way down to the east coast. The waterfall is most impressive in October-January after the rainy season. Than Sadet waterfall is culturally significant following the visits of Thai Kings who carved their names on rocks near the waterfall’s pools. To reach the waterfall hike 2 km upstream along the river from Than Sadet Beach on the east coast.
  • Phaeng Noi Waterfall
    Phaeng Noi Waterfall, is a 30 meters high waterfall falling into a pool, in Than Sadet, Ko Phangan Sok National Park near Thong Sala. The waterfall is very impressive in the rainy season or right after and is accessible by a short jungle trail. A recommended ethical Elephant Sanctuary 2 km west of the waterfall offers Elephants walks and feedings.
