• Koblenz

A German city on both banks of the Rhine and the Moselle Rivers, 127 km northwest of Frankfurt, and 100 km southeast of Bonn.
The city is located on the northern edge of the 100 km long Romantic Rhine Road between Koblenz and Mainz. Koblenz is divided into the Neustadt, the new city, and Altstadt, the old city, which you should stroll starting from the Deutsches Eck, offering great views of both rivers meeting point, the bridges, cruise ships and the town.

Visiting the city the TheTjoy.com recommends considering a visit to the following attractions including;

  • Take the 900 meters long cable car, Koblenz Seilbahn, from Deutsches Eck across the river to the 19th century Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, where you will explore the corridors maze, the walls, and the battlements remains.
  • Enjoy the archaeological and historic artifacts collections and temporary exhibitions in the State Museum of Koblenz within the fortress.
  • Back in the old city, visit the 13th century Romanesque Basilica of St. Castor with its four towers, the nearby Jesuitenplatz Square with the Schangel Fountain, and the Electoral Palace, Schloss Koblenz, and its beautiful Gardens.
  • Continue south along the Rhine to the Gardens of Empress Augusta, Kaiserin-Augusta-Anlagen, with its colorful flowerbeds, towering trees, and sculptures.
