• Khao Phanom Bencha National Park

A mountainous national park of pristine rainforest, waterfalls, and wildlife habitat, 27 km north of Krabi Town. In the park, beautiful natural attractions and excellent hiking opportunities including jungle hiking trails of varying difficulty, offering opportunities for birdwatching and wildlife spotting. The park is home to wild elephants, gibbons, hornbills, and numerous other species, though wildlife sightings require patience and luck. Khao Phanom Bencha appeals particularly to hikers, naturalists, and those seeking less visited natural attractions.
The park’s most accessible and popular attraction is the Huai To Waterfall, Tham Khao Phung, an impressive multi-tiered cascade dropping approximately 11 tiers through the rainforest, with the lower 5 tiers easily accessible via a walking trail. The trail follows the stream upward, passing on the way pools suitable for swimming and smaller cascades, all within a beautiful forest with massive trees and tropical vegetation. The lower pool and main cascade, tiers 1 and 2, are close to the park entrance, offering swimming in a beautiful large pool beneath the cascade. Reaching tiers 3-5 requires more effort and a 1 hour uphill hike.
