• Kastro

The 14th century fortified Medieval Castle of Skiathos, on a rocky cliff in the northern tip of the island, overlooking the northern Aegean Sea. 9 km northwest of the town of Skiathos, Kastro is accessible by boat or a short trail from Kastro Beach. On the site which was used as the capital of the island for 400 years are the remains of the old “town”, ruins of an imposing gate, the walls, churches, mosque, streets and houses.
