• Innsbruck’s Hofburg Imperial Palace

The Kaiserliche Hofburg was originally a 15th century Habsburg Baroque holiday residence palace in Innsbruck, Austria, and today a museum. The palace is divided into 5 themed areas, the 18th century Empress Maria Theresa’s Rooms, the 19th century Empress Elisabeth’s Apartment, a period Furniture Museum, an Ancestral Gallery, and a Painting Gallery, reflecting the cultural history of the Habsburgs for 5 centuries.
The most impressive hall in the palace is the 18th century Giants’ Hall with its beautiful ceiling frescoes, Crystal Chandeliers, and wall paintings of the Habsburg family. Near the palace beautiful gardens originated in the 15th century, including greenhouses home to 1,700 plants species, a children’s playground, and a cafe. In the Summer, the palace gardens host concerts and musical performances.
