A Neo-Baroque royal residence palace in the Island of Herreninsel in Chiemsee Lake, built by king Ludwig II in the end of the 19th century. Designed after the French Versailles palace, only 20 of the palace 70 rooms were complete before the death of king Ludwig. Visit the beautiful furnished rooms including the Hall of Mirrors, the Hall of Peace, and the Hall of War among others, and enjoy the ceiling frescoes, paintings and various artifacts. Stroll the palace formal garden and admire the beautiful flower beds and trimmed plants, fountains and classic statues.
