• Heraklion Archaeological Museum

The museum is home to 27 galleries and a collection of items representing more than 5,500 years of Crete’s history. The museum, located in the eastern part of the old town, is considered one of the greatest museums in Greece home to the best collection in the world of Minoan art, dated from 6000 BC to 650 BC.
Enjoy the display of frescoes from Knossos and Hagia Triada, and sculptures from Classical Greek and Greco-Roman periods. Among the artifacts in the museum, a magnificent 3,500 year old frescoes from the Palace of Knossos, the glazed ceramic figurine of the Snake Goddess, and the 100 BC clay Phaistos Disk.
