• Hengifoss Fall

A picturesque 120 meters high waterfall with red clay layered steep basaltic lave cliffs, in the Hallormsstaoarskogur forest, the largest wooded area in Iceland. The waterfall is 35 km southwest of Egilsstaoir accessed via an uphill, 3 km 1-hour, moderate level trail from the car park to the waterfall, through beautiful scenery.
Near Hengifoss Fall you will find the impressive Litlanesfoss Fall. The uphill 1.5 km long trail from the car park to the fall is of difficult level.
