• Hellfire Pass Memorial Museum

Hellfire Pass is one of the most significant and moving WWII memorial sites in Southeast Asia, located 80 km northwest of Kanchanaburi town near the village of Sai Yok. The pass, officially called Konyu Cutting, was the most difficult section of the entire Death Railway to construct. The Australian funded memorial museum at the site includes personal testimonies from survivors, historical photographs, and detailed documentation of conditions on the railway. A walking trail through Hellfire Pass and the surrounding railway cuttings allows visitors to walk the actual path the prisoners carved through.
