• Hekla Volcano

The volcano includes few craters of which 2 are active, and its 1,500 meters peak is covered by a dense cloud of fog. The Hekla Volcano is the most active volcano in Iceland, hence the mountain is monitored continuously to enable alert ahead of time. In the summer hiking the trail to the summit takes 4 hours, where in springtime skiing around the crater rim is possible. It’s an hour and a half drive from Reykjavik to the Hekla Volcano.
