When in Marienplatz, the central square in Munich’s Old Town, face the Rathaus, the City Hall facade home to the 100 years old clock. Part of the clock is a charming show of 32 large doll figures accompanied by the music of 43 bells and telling the story of the 16th century wedding between the local Duke Wilhelm and Renata of Lorraine. The show takes place every day at 11:00 and noon, and additionally, at 17:00 in the summer.
Ride the Rathaus (City Hall) elevator to the middle gallery of the building’s 85-meter tower for magnificent views over the city.
