Girona old town stands on the steep hill of the Capuchins, east of the river Onyar, while the more modern part of town is west to the river. The city, 100 km northeast of Barcelona, was founded around 76 BC, ruled by the Visigoths and the Moors and was declared an Aragon town in the 11th century.

Walk the walls of the old city built in the 1st century BC and enjoy the panoramic views of Girona and the surrounding countryside. Visit the Jewish quarter, one of the best preserved in Europe and a major tourist attraction, where the Jewish community of Girona has flourish in the 12th century with one of the most important Kabbalistic schools in Europe.

Admire the picturesque houses and painted facades of the Riverside houses, Cases de l’Onyar, overlooking the river Onyar. Visit the ancient town’ Cathedral, previously a Moorish Mosque and an example of Catalan Gothic architecture. The Cathedral is divided into three tiers of statuettes and reliefs and is framed in canopied niches of cast and hammered silver.
