• Giethoorn Village

The “Venice of the Netherlands” is a beautiful and picturesque traditional Dutch village, in the Weerribben-Wieden National Park, 1.5 hours ride by car northeast of Amsterdam. Most of the village 18th – 19th centuries cottages and farmhouses were built on small peat islands, with narrow canals, footpaths, and more than 170 small wooden bridges connecting them together.

Admire the peaceful village, the beautiful houses with the colored shutters and small gardens, the narrow canals, and the small bridges. Take a small boat tour, hire a canoe, stroll, or cycle the beautiful trails and small bridges over the canals, visit a small local museum, and enjoy a canal side cafe or restaurants.
