The last colony in Europe which belongs to the UK at the entrance to the Mediterranean Sea. In a visit to Gibraltar, you will enjoy overwhelming views of Africa from the top of rock of Gibraltar, the famous Barbary Macaques monkeys, and Dolphin and Whales watching tours. Take time to explore the caves and tunnels, especially those not meant for tourists! Inside the rock its an absolute labyrinth with secret internal roads and tunnels four times longer than those on the surface.
Do not forget your Passport or identity card for EU citizens, entering the colony!
Enjoy the views over to Africa from both the east and the west sides of the colony. Walk south along the western side of the Rock’s top, from the cable car station to the Upper Rock, where you will find military installations and nature reserve where the famous Barbary Macaques monkeys live.
Visit the Gibraltar Museum, and the St Michael’s Cave, an impressive natural grotto used by the Neolithic inhabitants of the Rock. Walk The Mediterranean Steps, from Jew’s Gate bird observatory, winding its way up the east side of the rock to the top where you will have fantastic views of the sea and Africa. Take a short sailing tour in the Marina Bay watching numerous playful dolphins, and further to watch Whales.
