• Elafonissos

A small island famous for its wonderful and tranquil sandy beaches, some of the best in the Peloponnese. The island is located in the south between the Peloponnese and Kythira, 40 km south of Monemvasia. The most popular beaches in the island are Panagias Nissia, Fragos (Simos) and Sarakiniko beach, and the Punta beach on the mainland opposite the island.
There are some archaeological sites on the island, and off the coast of the island the 3rd millennium BC sunken town of Pavlopetri archeological site. Elafonissos is connected with the small port Pounta by a ferry, which in turn is connected by ferry to the nearby Neapolis. The nearest Airport is in Kythera.
