• Dettifoss Fall

A 45 meters high, and 100 meters wide overwhelming waterfall, surrounded by rugged, volcanic terrain, falling into the Jokulsargljufur Canyon. The waterfall is considered one the most powerful waterfalls in Europe. The must-see waterfall is better to admire from the east bank of the Jokulsla river.
The waterfall water crashing down creates a roar and a mist that can be heard and seen from a distance.
The Dettifoss Fall is 36 km south of Asbyrgi Canyon, and 38 km north of The Ring Road.
Selfoss Fall, a very wide and unique 11 meters high waterfall, is 1 km upriver south of the Dettifoss Fall, and the Hafragilsfoss Fall, a 27 meters high and impressive waterfall, is 2.5 km downriver north of the Dettifoss Fall. You can hike to both Selfoss Fall and Hafragilsfoss Fall from Dettifoss Fall.
