• Dachau Concentration Camp

Memorial grounds in the former Nazi Concertation Camp, 28 km north of Munich center. The Dachau Concentration was the first to be built under Hitler’s order in Germany and it was freed by the US Army in April 1945. The German SS held in the camp more than 200,000 prisoners; Jews, Romany, and others from countries that Germany occupied or invaded, of which 40,000 people were murdered in the camp in sheer brutality.
The Concentration Camp memorial includes documentary exhibit, the grounds of the former prisoners’ camp, the camp crematorium, the bunker, and the reconstructed prisoners’ barracks. Note that visiting the Concentration Camp may be very stressful and emotional difficult.
