• Claude Monet House and Gardens

The house and gardens of the famous Impressionist painter Claude Monet who lived here between 1883–1926 until his death. The Gardens of the Musee des Impressionnismes, in the village of Giverny, 70 km southeast of Rouen, are a highly popular tourist’s destination being the beautiful flower gardens and water garden which inspired the famous painter, leading to the creation of his most famous paintings.
Heaven for both gardening enthusiasts and art lovers, enjoy the famous waterlily pond and the wooden bridge across the water stream. In the beautiful flower gardens, you will admire the daffodils in Spring, dahlias in Autumn, and many other incredible blue, white, and pink flowers. In the house explore Monet’s lounge, kitchen, and other rooms all beautifully furnished in French country style. The house and gardens are open from April to the end of October with tickets available at the tourist office in Vernon.
