• Avila’s Catedral de San Salvador

A magnificent 11th century Romanesque and Gothic cathedral, built as part of the town wall. Notable in the cathedral, the mix of Romanesque and Gothic decorations, and Puerta de los Apóstoles, a beautiful 15th century gate. You will admire the red and white granite stonework, beautiful stained glass windows, magnificent altar, and the paintings and sculptures. In the cathedral museum religious art collection including a portrait by El Greco.
