• Cardiff Castle

The major Cardiff attraction is a Medieval castle and Victorian Gothic mansion located in the city center. The original castle was built in the 11th century by Norman invaders on top of a 3rd century Roman fort. Today the castle is home to the Welsh Soldier history museum, and it hosts musical events and festivals.

The Victorian mansion within the castle is home to fabulous state apartments presenting the lives of the Bute family members since the 18th century, with displays of key events part of the castle history.
