A small town west of Nice, best reflecting the French Riviera Glitz and Glamour, known for the world famous summer film festival held in town every year, and for its luxury hotels and restaurants. The main attraction in town for both locals and visitors is to stroll in the iconic Promenade de la Croisette, the waterfront avenue, lined with palm trees, restaurants, cafes, boutiques and luxury hotels. The promenade overlooks the bay of Cannes with its picturesque beaches of calm waters and water sports facilities.
Watch the marina with its fabulous yachts, visit the picturesque old port, and stroll the alleys of the old town, Le Suquet.
Climb the steep hill up to the 11th century fortified tower, Tour du Mont Chevalier, and the Chapel of St Anne, to enjoy the Musee de la Castre and its 19th century ethnographic collection from around the world.

For shopping explore the beautiful and glamour boutiques of Rue d’Antibes.
Take a guided tour organized by the Cannes tourist office, for a visit in the Palais des Festivals et des Congres, home to the glamorous annual film festival, learning about the history of the famous event. Visit the nearby Allee des Etoiles du Cinema, where celebrities’ hands are imprinted in the pavement.

Off the coast of Cannes you can take a ferry or a boat tour to Ile Sainte-Marguerite, to enjoy its rocky beaches, the ruins of Fort Royal fortress, and  the Musee de la Mer (Museum of the Sea). Nearby you can also visit the small Saint Honorat Island, Ile Saint-Honorat, its fortress ruins and the Lerins Abbey.
Visit the outstanding Musee d’Art Classique de Mougins in the town of Mougins, 8 km north of Cannes, with the vast collection of artworks spanning over 5,000 years.

If you do not plan to spend your vacation in Cannes, spend one day visiting town, and continue east to visit Saint Moritz, or west to Antibes, Nice, Monaco, and Menton.
