• Big Pit National Coal Museum

An industrial heritage museum in Blaenavon, 45 km north of Cardiff. The former coal mine is dedicated to operational preservation of the Welsh heritage of coal mining. The museum features a range of above ground attractions including a winding house, sawmill, pithead, and baths.

Visitors are also taken below ground to the pit bottom, 90 meters below ground, for a tour of the mine’s pit. Explore and admire the town and the well-preserved buildings and homes of the miners who once lived and worked here.
