• Belem Tower

Torre de Belem in Belem District near the Jeronimo Monastery, is a 16th century fortified tower built at the entrance of the city at the time it was built. The small fortress at the Tagus riverfront reflects a combination of Gothic and Manueline architecture, including watch towers, stone carved battlements, and rooms used as royal quarters, a prison, and a chapel. From the top of the 35 meters high tower enjoy a beautiful scenery of the city, the river, and the ocean.
