• Bangkok National Museum

The museum is the largest in Southeast Asia and the most comprehensive repository of Thai art and history in existence, located near the Grand Palace in the Old City.
The museum complex includes also the beautifully preserved Wang Na Palace, the 18th century former residence of the Deputy King. The museum’s collection spans Thai history from prehistory to the Rattanakosin period, including royal regalia, Buddhist art, weapons, textiles, ceramics, musical instruments, and decorative arts of exceptional historical significance. The collection highlights include the Phra Sihing Buddha, the Royal Funeral Chariot Gallery, and the extensive galleries of Sukhothai, Ayutthaya, and Rattanakosin art periods. Free guided tours in English are available on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
The museum is closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, and public holidays.
