• Baixa District

The Baixa District is located between two hills and is considered downtown Lisbon. The district modern “look” contras the mase of cobbled streets of the older neighbourhoods.
Its a lively area packed with numerous shopping opportunities mainly in international chains, hotels, restaurants, cafes and bars. The district main pedestrian street is Rua Augusta leading the way from Figueira Square to Commerce Square, Praca do Comercio on the waterfront, one of Europe’s largest squares. Beneath the district streets lies the remains of Roman Lisbon which are seldom open for visits.
While in Baixa, visit Rua Augusta Arch monument, the Santa Justa Elevator, Elevador de Santa Justa, the nice Praca do Município, a square paved with cobblestone designs, and the MuDe, the Design and Fashion Museum. The districts of Alfama, Chiado and Bairro Alto are a walking distance from Baixa.
