• Arrabida Natural Park

Visit and Enjoy Parque Natural da Arrabida with its green hills sloped to the coastline between Sesimbra and Setubal.
Take a scenic drive in the park using N379 road, one of Portugal’s magnificent driving routes, which winds up the hills and offering magnificent scenery.
While in the park enjoy the numerous hiking & cycling trails, climbing, paragliding and caving, and the picturesque coastline, offering kayaking and magnificent beaches. Visit the Convent of Our Lady of Arrabida, Convento de Nossa Senhora da Arrabida, a former 16th century monastery on a park’s hill, concealed by the vegetation. In the convent, two chapels, a sanctuary, and more then 40 monk’s cells spread on the hill’s slope, some dug into the rock on the top of the hill. The visits to the convent are limited, hence, be sure to prebook your visit in advance.
To learn about the park’s indigenous vegetation and fauna, visit the Oceanographic Museum in Forte de Santa Maria da Arrabida, north of Portinho da Arrabida beach.
