The best beaches in Tenerife are those on its sunny south coast, between Playa de las Americas, the main resort area in Tenerife, Los Cristianos and El Medano in the east.
Around these towns there are quite a few beautiful beaches, such as Costa Adeje, with its shopping opportunities, luxury spas, golf, windsurfing, jet skiing, and more, and La Caleta, a hidden gem of beautiful setting and tranquil environment, both north of Playa de las Americas. El Medano Beach in the southeast is a world-class surfing beach.
Other major resort areas are in the northeast around Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
