• Walls of Ávila

This 11th century 2.5 km long and 12 meters high wall around the old town (Ciudad Vieja) is considered one of the best preserved Medieval fortification walls in Spain. Climb the steps at the Puerta del Carmen to walk along the wall and admire the towers and round turrets, and especially the nine entrance gates of which the most impressive are Puerta de San Vicente and the Puerta del Alcázar.
