One of the world’s leading museums with its vast collection of more than 8,000 paintings, mostly of European art from the 12th century to the 19th century. The museum collection includes remarkable works by Goya, Velázquez, El Greco, José de Ribera, Rubens, Titian, Caravaggio, Van Dyck, Durer, and many more. Also part of the museum are the contemporary art building and the 16th century cloister of the San Jerónimo el Real monastery where a beautiful collection of 17th century Spanish religious paintings are exhibited.
