Families with children will find many possible attractions to enjoy, from children oriented museums such as the Natural History Museum, the magical Musee de la Maggie, and the Cite des Sciences with its hands-on science exhibits. Children will also enjoy the beautiful parks and gardens with various playgrounds, and on top of all, the magnificent Disneyland Paris.
Be sure to leave some time to explore the Paris shopping opportunities, and to enjoy the Michelin stared restaurants, the patisseries and boulangeries (bakeries), and to take a short cooking course. Taste the magnificent Chocolates at St. Germain des Pres, have lunch in Rue Cler, one of the best streets for foodies in Paris, and stroll between the stalls of Rue Mouffetard market street.
Paris is a city of style and fashion. International trends and local marvelous findings will be found at designer boutiques and flagship houses, at art nouveau department stores, vintage shops, and more. Winter or summer, spend 3-5 days in Paris. Once you have fully absorbed the city’s great offerings and attractions, have 1-2 days trips, or longer if time allows, to nearby or further away destinations and attractions.

TheTjoy.com recommends taking one day trip to one or more of the impressive Palaces surrounding Paris including;

  1. The Palace of Versailles, 30 km southwest of Paris.
  2. Chateau de Fontainebleau, 69 km southeast of Paris.
  3. Chateau de Chantilly, 54 km north of Paris. On the way from Paris to Château de Chantilly consider visiting the pilgrimage Basilique Cathedrale de Saint-Denis and the beautiful Musee National de la Renaissance in the Chateau d’Ecouen.

Other great trips out of Paris are;

  1. Enjoying few glasses of great wine in the Champagne wine region, 143 km northeast of Paris.
  2. Families with Children should have 1-2 days of fun in Disneyland Paris, 43 km east of the city.
  3. Further away west consider visiting few of Normandy’s great attractions including;
    • 140 km to the northwest travel to Normandy’s Rouen for few days.
    • The D-Day WWII Landing Beaches Memorial Monuments and Museums, 245 km west of Paris.
    • The Iconic Mont Saint Michel, the Islet rising from the water, 360 km west of Paris.
  4. For a different experience, spend 2-3 days in the Loire Valley and its magnificent palaces and great natural gems, 180 km south of Paris.
