A small fishing village 55 km south of Syracuse, one of Sicily’s most beautiful seaside villages.
The village specializes in the production of sea food delicacies, such as canned dried roe, smoked tuna, smoked swordfish, marinated anchovies, and more.

The 18th century village historic center surround Piazza Regina Margherita, with surrounding charming historic buildings such as the Church of San Francesco di Paola, the Prince’s Palazzo, and numerous colorful fishermen’s houses.
South of the piazza, the small, picturesque fisherman’s harbor with its small wooden fishing boats.

In summer, visitors enjoy the sandy Porto Palo di Capo Passero Beach during the day, and at night the great local restaurants, the open-air bars, and the lively atmosphere of Piazza Regina Margherita with its live bands and DJ performances.

In July the village is often home to a unique International Film Festival where films are projected directly on the walls of the buildings surrounding the piazza.
