A 13th century huge fortified Medieval castle, 30 meters high, located on a cliff close to the city center. The castle is home to the Municipal Museum of Catania and its Biscari’s archeological collection of Classical, Roman and Greek sculptures, Greek vases and impressive mosaics. Also in the museum a paintings collection from the Medieval, Renaissance and the Baroque periods, including the ‘Madonna and Child’ by de Saliba, and the ‘San Cristoforo’ by Pietro Novelli. In addition, explore the museum’s collections of Weaponry, Bronze, Ivory, and Porcelain artifacts.
