• Erice

12th century charming Medieval village, 120 km west of Palermo on a mountain top above the port of Trapani. Take a cable car from Trapani to enjoy the great landscapes, and starting at Porta Trapani, explore the stone paved narrow streets, squares, palaces, and churches. Visit the Real Duomo, the Church of San Martino, and the Church of San Giuliano. Explore Erice’s icon, the 12th century Norman Venus Castle (Castello di Venere), and the beautiful Belvedere Gardens.
Enjoy the Marzipan sweets Erice is famous for, and take home one of the famous handmade multicolored woven “patch” carpets, or the handmade decorated ceramics. If the weather is fine hike the trail to the summit of the Three Churches, the Church of St. Maria Maddalena, St. Ippolito, and Santa Maria Maggiore. It’s a beautiful and easy hike around the mountain with beautiful scenery of the Bonagia gulf.
