A beautiful region between Florence and Siena, including the major towns of Greve, Radda and Castellina, and further southeast the towns of Gaiole and Castelnuovo Berarenga.

The Chianti Classico Region is the oldest and most authentic of the vast Chianti Region.
While driving the panoramic curvy roads along the Chiantigiana Road (SR222), you will enjoy its green rolling hills, endless stretches of vineyards, silver Olive groves, green pastures, and scattered wood.

On the way, visit the ancient walled hilltop villages and the historic castles and fortresses, and obviously do not forget to have a tour (or two) in the excellent vineyards while tasting the great world-renowned Chianti DOCG red wine.

But on top of all, this is a journey through traditional Tuscan food and wine which blends ideally with the great meat cold cuts from the local Cinta Senese, and the local dishes such as the Tuscan bread soup, chicken neck, chicken livers and others.

While traveling in the region you can also find Children’s Attractions for the smaller ones in the family.

Thetjoy.com recommends spending 1-2 days traveling the Chianti Classico Region between Greve and Castellina as part of a tour south from Florence or North from Siena.
If traveling from Florence, return to city from Castellina or continue to Monteriggioni, San Gimignano and Siena.
