Chiang Saen is an ancient riverside town 60 km north of Chiang Rai on the Mekong River. In town explore the impressive ruins including temple remains, earthwork fortifications, and brick stupas scattered around the small town. Visit the Chiang Saen small National Museum home to Lanna artifacts and Buddha statues. The town makes a nice stop when visiting the Golden Triangle, sitting in a local fish restaurant on the Mekong riverfront.
