• Kamala Beach

Kamala Beach is a crescent bay with a beautiful 2 km long sandy beach of clear water, north of Patong beach and 19 km northwest of Phuket Town. The gradual beach slopes make the beach safe for children with supervision. Water sports facilities, parasailing, jet skis, banana boats, and kayaking are available.
The beach resorts offer a middle path between upscale and budget accommodations, with convenient facilities, good restaurants, and more authentic local character than most tourist beaches. The southern section is where most of the resorts are, with mid-range hotels, beachfront restaurants, and water sports operators.
The central and northern sections maintain quieter character, with the fishing village at the northern end maintaining traditional lifestyle and cultural experience, offering simple local restaurants and coffee shops. Walking through the village to the rocky headland at the far northern end you will reach relatively secluded small beaches, and viewpoints. The area feels more like “real Thailand” than the other developed resort areas.
Phuket FantaSea Cultural Theme Park dominates Kamala’s southern headland, with a Las Vegas style entertainment complex featuring spectacular theatrical show with more than 400 performers, elephants, and dramatized Thai mythology. The complex includes a large restaurant, shopping village, and carnival games creating an evening entertainment popular with families and tour groups.
Kamala Beach offers a variety of accommodation options from budget guesthouses to upscale resorts. The beach evening scene is low-key in beach bars with live music, hotel bars, and local restaurants.
The beach suits families, couples, and travelers appreciating the village’s traditional vibes, and prioritizing quiet atmosphere over nightlife and entertainment variety.
