Don Rak Cemetery in the Kanchanaburi town center is the principal Allied war cemetery in Kanchanaburi, maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. In the cemetery 6,982 graves of Allied prisoners of war who died during the construction of the Death Railway, most of them British, Australian, and Dutch. A visit to the cemetery is a moving experience.
