  • Koh Lanta Island is Krabi Province’s largest inhabited island, with nine
beaches, some developed and some deserted, along its western
Andaman Sea coast. The island, 70 km south of Krabi, is a more relaxed
and family friendly when compared to Phi Phi’s party atmosphere and
Railay’s adventure focus. The island offers beautiful long beaches,
excellent diving in surrounding waters, and an authentic and slow pace
Old Town preserving sea Gypsy and Sino-Portuguese culture.
Lanta Marine National Park, in the island’s southern section and in the
surrounding islands, protects the marine ecosystem and is considered
the best diving location in Krabi Province, with dive shops offering trips
to Hin Daeng, Hin Muang, Koh Haa, and other renowned sites.
Enjoy yoga retreats and wellness centers, cooking classes, Elephant
sanctuaries offering activities with rescued elephants, kayaking through
mangroves on Lanta’s eastern coast, Motorbike touring of the island
attractions, and day tours to nearby islands.
To reach Koh Lanta take a short ferry sail to the island from Ban Hua Hin pier.
Speedboats operate directly from Ao Nang and Koh Phi Phi Islands.
Enjoy Koh Lanta for 2-3 days part of your Krabi visit, or as your main
    vacation location for 5-7 days.
