Albufeira is the largest and most popular beach resort town in Algarve, presenting three distinct parts for its visitors, the Old Town with its traditional Portuguese charm and Moorish legacy, and 2 km away, the “Strip” in the modern town, the center of entertainment and activity with its day and night “party” vibes, and the vibrant and colourful marina complex offering great boat tours. The town offers inclusive high level hotels, numerous restaurants, bars and beach clubs.
Albufeira vibrant nightlife are considered the best in Algarve. At night, the narrow streets’ open air cafes, the beachfront bars, and the open-air dance clubs, all comes alive while retaining the old town charm.   • Praia dos Pescadores, a 1.3 km long beach in front of the old city, sheltered from the strong waves, parts with sandy stretches, others with small coves.
  • Praia da Oura, a smaller beach with calm waters in front of The Strip offering water sports facilities bars and restaurants.
  • Praia de São Rafael is the most beautiful beach, part of the picturesque coastline southwest of the marina. The beach is a medium size sheltered cove great for families, surrounded by cliffs with some sea rock arches, and offering all the required beach facilities.
  • The secluded and tranquil Praia dos Arrifes, ideal for swimming and snorkelling.
  • In Praia Olhos de Agua, 7 km east of the old town, enjoy Olheiros de Agua Doce freshwater springs and small pools with bubbling fresh water within lush vegetation and trees.

Visit Vilamoura, 17 km west of town, the most luxurious modern resort town of the Algarve.

Albufeira’s peak season is in July through to September, but the town is not closed in winter, and many restaurants, bars and cafes remain open all year.
The main international airport of the Algarve Region is Faro international airport, 36 km east of Albufeira.
