• Epidaurus

A small city part of ancient Greece 28 km East of Nafplio. Today Epidaurus is the name of two modern towns, Palaia Epidavros and Nea Epidavros, which together belong to the municipality of Epidaurus.

Ancient Epidaurus is famous for its huge and perfectly preserved 4th century BC Amphitheatre, which is still in use today. The theatre can seat up to 14,000 people in 55 rows, and it has exceptional acoustics. The ancient town main temple was dedicated to the god of medicine, Asclepios, and it was renowned for its miraculous healing powers.

In addition to the Amphitheater, explore on site the Epidaurus Museum, the Temple of Asclepios, the Gymnasium, the Stadium, and other structures most of which are in ruins. When in the area you can enjoy the beautiful beaches, such as Gialasi Beach, or if you prefer some extreme activity try paragliding from Mount Arachnaio or Mount Akros, above the coastline around Ancient Epidaurus.
