  • The region is home to 47 authentic stone built villages known as the Tzoumerkohoria, and numerous monasteries and churches, 30 km south of Ioannina. Tzumerka is located on the slopes of the Tzoumerka mountain range, offering impressive natural beauty, lush green scenery of mountains and valleys, freezing waterfalls, canyons and streams, and the River Arachthos flowing down the mountain range. Hike the beautiful trails, bike the beautiful roads, and raft in the Arachthos river.
    Traveling in the region, visit the beautiful authentic villages surrounded by overwhelming scenery home to rugged traditional stone houses, a central square with a large church and a large plane tree, and cobbled streets.
    Visiting Tzumerka, is enjoyable in any of the yearly seasons, enjoying skiing in the winter, the blooming in Spring and the Red and Yellow colors of Autumn.
    Spend atleast 2-3 days in the region. On the way to or from Tzoumerka, visit the Zagori region, and the close by Meteora Monasteries Region.
