• Cape Sounion

Cape Sounion at the southern tip of the Attic peninsula, 8 km south of of Lavrio , and 70 km southeast of Athens, is known for the 5th century BC Temple of Poseidon, one of the major monuments of the Golden Age of Athens. The temple is located on a 60 meters high hill above the sea, offering breathtaking panoramic view of the coast and sea. The temple remains includes 15 of the original 36, 6 meters high Marble columns.
