A beautiful town in the northern parts of the Black Forest, nestled within peaceful and tranquil countryside, 33 km west of Stuttgart and 177 km northeast of Freiburg. Visit the town’s picturesque market square surrounded by cobbled streets with Gothic churches, and enjoy the 18th century partially timbered charming houses, and numerous small shops, restaurants, and caffes.
Enjoy the famous ruins of the Benedictine Hirsau Monastery and museum, and the old bridge. The town has dedicated a museum, the Hermann Hesse Museum, to the Nobel Prize novelist who was born here. Other interesting museums in town are the Tannery Museum and the Farmhouse Museum.
