  • A luxurious and highly popular SPA town on the small River Oos, at the northwestern region of the Black Forest, 10 km east of the Rhine River, and 110 km northeast of Freiburg.

    Enjoy the lovely Paradies, the Renaissance Garden with its fountains and high cascades, the lovely ornamental garden, and the lovely rose garden of Rosengarten auf dem Beutig. Admire the extravagantly decorated casino, the Kurhaus, facing the Kurpark, and next to it the Trinkhalle, Pump Room, a 19th century impressive arcade decorated with mural paintings by Jakob Götzenberger.

    To relax, enjoy yourself in one of the two SPAs, the 19th century Roman-Irish Friedrichsbad, and the modern and luxurious Caracalla Baths. To complement your SPA experience, visit the well-preserved Roman Bath Ruins.

    There are quite a few interesting museums and galleries in Baden-Baden including the Museum Frieder Burda, one of Germany’s most extensive collection of modern art, including paintings, sculptures, photographs, and more. The museum collection includes with works by the German Max Beckmann, August Macke, American Jackson Pollock, Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso, and many more.

    Visit the fabulous Faberge Museum, devoted to the famous Russian jeweler, with many items including Faberge Eggs, Birch Egg, jewelry boxes, candelabras, clocks, bowls, and more. Other museums are the Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden State Art Gallery, the interesting Museum of 19th Century Art and Technology, and the Johannes Brahms’s residence, the Brahmshaus, turned into a museum.

    Baden-Baden is also a popular destination for those seeking outdoor activities, with its golf and tennis clubs, many hiking trails, mountain climbing, winter ski routes, and horse racing in the summer.
