• Munich’s Olympic Park (Olympiapark)

Built for the 1972 Olympic Games 9 km northwest of Munich center, the park presents impressive and unique architecture and design. Today the park serves as a venue for cultural and social events such as concerts, summer Festival, and as a recreation center. The cultural events are held at the Theatron on the Olympic recreational lake, in the Olympic Event Hall, and in the Olympia Stadium. Market stalls, restaurants, playgrounds, amusement rides and more are held in Coubertinplatz and along the park Olympia Lake (Olympiasee).
The park offers Jogging and cycling trails, and great sports facilities such as the Olympia Stadium, Olympic Ice Sports Center, the Velodrome, the Olympic Swim pool and more.
The famous 295 meters high Olympic Tower offers a viewing platform with overwhelming landscapes of Munich and the Alpine Mountains in the south. Also in the park the highly popular Sea Life Aquatic Center, an aquarium home to more than 10,000 different aquatic creatures in various Marine environments. Near the Olympic Park visit the fascinating BMW Welt and BMW Museum with their historic and current automotive collections and displays. Tours of the park, its unique architecture and facilities are highly popular and are offered daily.
