• The Brandenburg Gate

The Brandenburger Tor is an impressive 26 meters high 18th century neoclassical monument built by the Prussian king Frederick William II, based on the Acropolis in Athens. The monument presents a magnificent four horse chariot carrying the goddess of victory on the top. The highly popular gate, at the junction of Unter den Linden and Ebertstraße west of the Pariser Platz, is a symbol of both the turbulent history of Germany and Europe, of divided Germany, and of unity and peace.
