• The Vatnsnes Peninsula

The peninsula is considered one of the best locations in Iceland to watch seals, especially in Illugastadir Seal Watching Site, on the northeastern shores of the peninsula. In the town of Hvammstangi, you can visit the Icelandic Seal Centre to learn more about these animals.
On the eastern shores of the peninsula you will admire the Hvítserkur, a magnificent huge rock off the shore in the sea, said to be a ‘Frozen Troll’, a drinking Elephant, or a Dinosaur. Sometimes Seals are watched swimming or resting on the rocks.
