  • The Golden Circle is one of Iceland’s most popular 1 day sightseeing route, 60-120 km east of Reykjavik. The route main attractions are the Thingvellir National Park, the Haukadalur Geothermal Area with the Strokkur and the famous Geysir geysers, the famous Gullfoss Fall, the Faxi waterfall, and the amazing and tranquil Kerid Crater Lake. All these sites are fed by the melting ice of the northern Langjökull Glacier.
Starting at Thingvellir National Park in the north you can return from Kerid Crater Lake to Reykjavik, 1 hour drive, or you can spend the night in the area, in Hella for example, before continuing your Iceland trip, traveling The Landmannlauger, Thjorsardalur Detour, and/or traveling southeast to Vik.
