The largest nature reserve in the Alps, including the highest peaks of Austria mountain ranges along the central Alps area. In the park, Austria′s highest mountain the Großglockner 3,789 meters high, and more than 300 mountain summits of more than 3,000 meters. Also in the park numerous glaciers, major rivers and Alpine lakes, canyons, and major waterfalls including the famous 380 meters high Krimml waterfalls, the highest in Europe.
Drive the stunning scenic The Großglockner Hochalpenstraße mountain road, the 2nd most popular attraction in Austria and visit the Wildlife and Adventure Park in Ferleiten south of Kaprun.
Visit some of the various small museums in Bramberg (history and mineral), in Fusch, the local history museum in Mittersill, and others. Walk and follow the water streams in one of many canyons, hike one of many beautiful trails, and swim in one of the park lakes and in the local town’s water parks and pools.
